i want to work for you
hi. i'm jendrik schroeder, a photographer and videographer based in berlin. i've just finished my postgraduate studies in philosophy and arts but have been working as a freelancer in the audiovisual field for about 5 years for clients like vice media, coca cola and welthungerhilfe. as someone who has followed jonas lindström's work for years i was beyond excited to read about the opening of the internship position in your studio. you'll find everything you need to know about me on this website. in case you want to read my cv in a more traditional way, just click here! to see some of my work you can either go to my regular website and follow the video or photo button on the top right – or just keep scrolling down.

after working as a freelancer for years and coming back to shooting similar photos and videos day in day out, i'm looking for another challenge, a new context, a more inspirational environment. for quite a long time i've been struggling with having to choose a main profession: photo or video. jonas has been an inspirational figure to me, because he successfully managed to incorporate both mediums into his work without losing their unique ways of expression. further, the balance between commercial work and an aesthetic vision that never compromises its artistry is something i am really impressed with. aesthetically, i strongly resonate with his deeply composed images and the ability to shoot epic scenery in an almost subtle way. i have followed his work since truth or dare and ever since then thought about blindly applying for an internship – but it was never the right time. when i finally finished my studies and was looking for options in 2020, i discovered the internship announcement. so here we go.
i
because of my diverse interests, i've always striven to work in an interdisciplinary position. additional to my academic background in philosophy and communication studies as well as my work as a freelance photographer and filmmaker, i am very interested in sound. after playing in bands and touring in germany for years, i now shifted my focus to producing semi-electronic music. in the visual world i have worked on a lot of different projects in various positions. even though i work alone or in small teams in most of my freelance jobs, i did work as a set runner and driver before – yet also as a first ac and as a unit manager. i learned about moving fast on set – and i learned about sitting still. i worked in quiet offices and hectic kitchens, in fancy restaurants and smoky bars.
in 2020 i'd like to work with you.
