Let me confess something: I am not looking for a job. Well – I wasn't. Until I came across your opening in the film department. Kemmler Kemmler is not just another agency – so this is not just another application. I want to work for you. And I think it’s a match.
I‘m Jendrik Schröder: a multidisciplinary creative focussed on audiovisual work. Based in Berlin, I currently work as a freelance director, photographer, and videographer. You are looking for a Senior Creative Film and Concept. For an allrounder. A hands-on person with a mind of a strategist. Someone who connects the dots because he imagined and painted them himself. That's why I think I am a good fit.
Interdisciplinarity is the very core of my practice. I learned to think strategically, conceptually, and radically during my Communications studies at the University of the Arts, which led me to work as a strategic advisor for Melt! festival. Afterward, my postgraduate degree in Philosophy and Arts taught me to understand and value deep complexity and inspired me to use multi perspectivity as a creative tool. But thinking was never enough for me – I was always interested in creating.
For the past years, I have worked as a creative consultant, photographer, and filmmaker for clients like re:publica, Martin Gropius Bau, or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and with agencies like Vice Media, TLGG, and Tempo Media. Additionally, I took photography classes at Ostkreuzschule and showed my work in several exhibitions and publications from New York to Rome. Recently, I was included in GUP Magazine‘s Europeans FRESH EYES TALENTS 2021 selection.
At the same time, I have always worked on passion projects. In a recent zero budget project ‚la chair du monde‘, I developed an idea for a fashion video from a philosophical concept. I turned that concept into a mood board, cast crew and talent, produced and directed the shoot, edited and graded the video, composed and produced the music, wrote and recorded the voice-over text, and published the video. As much as I enjoyed the process of this project, being in control of every detail in the video myself, I came to realize that I strive to work in a team that is not just project-based – to make use of my network in Berlin and to create a new one. To elevate my work to the next level. To collaborate with curious people who push the boundaries of current aesthetics and contemporary culture. To get inspired and to inspire others.
Kemmler Kemmler seems to be a place where this is the common practice.
That's why I would love to become part of it.
